Sāriputta said to Anuruddha:
Ekamantaṁ nisinno kho āyasmā sāriputto āyasmantaṁ anuruddhaṁ etadavoca:
“Reverend Anuruddha, what things should a bhikkhu who is an adept enter and remain in?”
“asekhenāvuso anuruddha, bhikkhunā katame dhammā upasampajja vihātabbā”ti?
“Reverend Sāriputta, a bhikkhu who is an adept should enter and remain in the four kinds of mindfulness meditation.
“Asekhenāvuso sāriputta, bhikkhunā cattāro satipaṭṭhānā upasampajja vihātabbā.
What four?
Katame cattāro?

They meditate observing an aspect of feelings …

principles—keen, aware, and mindful, rid of desire and aversion for the world.
dhammesu dhammānupassī viharati ātāpī sampajāno satimā, vineyya loke abhijjhādomanassaṁ—
A bhikkhu who is an adept should enter and remain in these four kinds of mindfulness meditation.”
