SN 48.62 Tendencies – Anusayasutta

 

“Bhikkhū, when these five faculties are developed and cultivated they lead to uprooting the underlying tendencies.

“Pañcimāni, bhikkhave, indriyāni bhāvitāni bahulīkatāni anusayasamugghātāya saṁvattanti.

What five?

Katamāni pañca?

The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, samādhi, and wisdom.

Saddhindriyaṁ …pe… paññindriyaṁ—

When these five faculties are developed and cultivated they lead to uprooting the underlying tendencies.”

imāni kho, bhikkhave, pañcindriyāni bhāvitāni bahulīkatāni anusayasamugghātāya saṁvattantī”ti.
