SN 37.27 Mastered – Abhibhuyyasutta

 

“Bhikkhū, there are these five powers of a female.

“Pañcimāni, bhikkhave, mātugāmassa balāni.

What five?

Katamāni pañca?

Attractiveness, wealth, relatives, children, and ethical behavior.

Rūpabalaṁ, bhogabalaṁ, ñātibalaṁ, puttabalaṁ, sīlabalaṁ—

These are the five powers of a female.

imāni kho, bhikkhave, pañca mātugāmassa balāni.

A female living at home with these five powers has her husband under her mastery.”

Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi balehi samannāgato mātugāmo sāmikaṁ abhibhuyya vattatī”ti.
