SN 29.1 Plain Version – Suddhikasutta

 

At Sāvatthī.

Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

Bhikkhū, dragons reproduce in these four ways.

“Catasso imā, bhikkhave, nāgayoniyo.

What four?

Katamā catasso?

Dragons are born from eggs, from a womb, from moisture, or spontaneously.

Aṇḍajā nāgā, jalābujā nāgā, saṁsedajā nāgā, opapātikā nāgā—

These are the four ways that dragons reproduce.”

imā kho, bhikkhave, catasso nāgayoniyo”ti.
