SN 24.13 The Soul and the Body Are Identical – Taṁjīvaṁtaṁsarīraṁsutta

 

At Sāvatthī.

Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

Bhikkhū, when what exists, because of grasping what and insisting on what, does the view arise:

“Kismiṁ nu kho, bhikkhave, sati, kiṁ upādāya, kiṁ abhinivissa evaṁ diṭṭhi uppajjati:

‘The soul and the body are identical’?” …

‘taṁ jīvaṁ taṁ sarīran’”ti?

“Bhagavaṁmūlakā no, bhante, dhammā …pe…

niyato sambodhiparāyano”ti.
