AN 8.67 Ignoble Expressions – Anariyavohārasutta

Bhikkhū, there are these eight ignoble expressions.

“Aṭṭhime, bhikkhave, anariyavohārā.

What eight?

Katame aṭṭha?

Saying you’ve seen, heard, thought, or known something, but you haven’t. And saying you haven’t seen, heard, thought, or known something, and you have.

Adiṭṭhe diṭṭhavāditā, asute sutavāditā, amute mutavāditā, aviññāte viññātavāditā, diṭṭhe adiṭṭhavāditā, sute asutavāditā, mute amutavāditā, viññāte aviññātavāditā.

These are the eight ignoble expressions.”

Ime kho, bhikkhave, aṭṭha anariyavohārā”ti.
