AN 7.92 A Perfected One – Arahāsutta

1.1

Bhikkhū, it’s by being far from seven things that you become a perfected one.

“Ārakattā arahā hoti.

1.2

What seven?

Katamesaṁ sattannaṁ?

1.3

Identity view, doubt, misapprehension of precepts and observances, greed, hate, delusion, and conceit.

Sakkāyadiṭṭhi ārakā hoti, vicikicchā ārakā hoti, sīlabbataparāmāso ārako hoti, rāgo ārako hoti, doso ārako hoti, moho ārako hoti, māno ārako hoti.

1.4

It’s because of being far from these seven things that you become a perfected one.”

Imesaṁ kho, bhikkhave, sattannaṁ dhammānaṁ ārakattā arahā hotī”ti.

1.5

Aṭṭhamaṁ.
