AN 7.27 Perceptions – Saññāsutta

Bhikkhū, I will teach you seven dhamma that prevent decline.

“Satta vo, bhikkhave, aparihāniye dhamme desessāmi.

Taṁ suṇātha, sādhukaṁ manasi karotha …pe….

And what are the seven dhamma that prevent decline?

Katame ca, bhikkhave, satta aparihāniyā dhammā?

As long as the bhikkhū develop the perception of anicca

Yāvakīvañca, bhikkhave, bhikkhū aniccasaññaṁ bhāvessanti; vuddhiyeva, bhikkhave, bhikkhūnaṁ pāṭikaṅkhā, no parihāni.

they can expect growth, not decline. As long as these seven dhamma that prevent decline last among the bhikkhū, and as long as the bhikkhū are seen following them, they can expect growth, not decline.”

vuddhiyeva, bhikkhave, bhikkhūnaṁ pāṭikaṅkhā, no parihāni. Yāvakīvañca, bhikkhave, ime satta aparihāniyā dhammā bhikkhūsu ṭhassanti, imesu ca sattasu aparihāniyesu dhammesu, bhikkhū sandississanti; vuddhiyeva, bhikkhave, bhikkhūnaṁ pāṭikaṅkhā, no parihānī”ti.
