AN 4.211 Assembly – Parisāsutta

“Bhikkhū, these four corrupt an assembly.
“Cattārome, bhikkhave, parisadūsanā.

What four?
Katame cattāro?
1.3
A monk, nun, layman, or laywoman who is unethical, of bad character.
Bhikkhu, bhikkhave, dussīlo pāpadhammo parisadūsano;

bhikkhunī, bhikkhave, dussīlā pāpadhammā parisadūsanā;
1.5
upāsako, bhikkhave, dussīlo pāpadhammo parisadūsano;
1.6
upāsikā, bhikkhave, dussīlā pāpadhammā parisadūsanā.

These are the four that corrupt an assembly.
Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro parisadūsanā.
2.1
Bhikkhū, these four beautify an assembly.
Cattārome, bhikkhave, parisasobhanā.
2.2
What four?
Katame cattāro?
2.3
A monk, nun, layman, or laywoman who is ethical, of good character.
Bhikkhu, bhikkhave, sīlavā kalyāṇadhammo parisasobhano;

bhikkhunī, bhikkhave, sīlavatī kalyāṇadhammā parisasobhanā;
2.5
upāsako, bhikkhave, sīlavā kalyāṇadhammo parisasobhano;
2.6
upāsikā, bhikkhave, sīlavatī kalyāṇadhammā parisasobhanā.
2.7
These are the four that beautify an assembly.”
Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro parisasobhanā”ti.
