“The foremost of my laymen in first going for refuge are the merchants Tapussa and Bhallika.
“Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, mama sāvakānaṁ upāsakānaṁ paṭhamaṁ saraṇaṁ gacchantānaṁ yadidaṁ tapussabhallikā vāṇijā.
